After arriving to the National Monument, we snagged a campsite at the Bonita Canyon campground, locked the bikes to a tree, and proceeded up the 8 miles to the Echo Canyon trailhead. The 3.4 mile loop took the better part of the afternoon and we returned at sunset. The colors were fabulous and the scenery prepared us for the 7.4 mile hike we planned for the next day.
